Deputy CEO, Nesta and BIT's

Emily is Nesta and BIT’s Deputy CEO, and she supports the CEO’s strategic vision for Nesta, turning it into executable plans, focusing on driving operational effectiveness, increasing efficiency, impact and value for money. She helps to safeguard the group’s financial future, ensuring that Nesta has the necessary funds to deliver their ambitious mission goals.

Before joining the Nesta group as Group Chief Financial Officer, Emily was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at GuarantCo, a publicly funded organisation aiming to alleviate poverty by supporting the financing of infrastructure projects in Africa and Asia. Prior to this, she was the Academic Finance Director for University College London. She has also previously led the finance team of a medical research charity and performed green energy investing at a FTSE100 business.

Emily trained as a Chartered Accountant with PwC, having graduated from Exeter University with a BSc in Psychology.
