Spotlighting The Annual Technology Award
2024 was a highly competitive year for the ASC/MRS Technology Award. Four unusually strong finalists made the judging process especially challenging for our expert judging panel. But a clear decision was reached, and the award was presented to Stravito at the MRS Awards dinner in December, in London, for its Stravito Assistant software platform. Joining us on the night were the three other highly deserving finalists – Ayda for Ayda Pay, Google for Persona – Google Pixel Insights Assistant, and Streetbees for SBX.
˝It was an honour to receive the award. It’s a proud milestone for the company”
Sarah Lee, Stravito
ASC has partnered with the Market Research Society (MRS ) for over twenty years to present this annual award for outstanding achievement in research technology. MRS hosts the award at its glittering annual awards dinner, a black-tie event always held in London towards the end of the year and ASC hosts the judging process. Now officially called the “Best Technology Innovation Award” this annual award charts and celebrates the most innovative, effective and transformational technology to be found within the research industry each year.
AJ Johnson, ASC Director and Chair of the award judging panel, caught up with Sarah Lee, Co-Founder and Chief of Staff at Stravito to discover more about what winning the award means to them.
AJ: Congratuations again Sarah, and thanks for agreeing to share your thoughts on the ASC/MRS Technology Award from the perspective of a winner. Can I start by ask what prompted Stravito to enter for the award this year?
Sarah: The MRS Awards are one of the most prestigious award programs in the market research space. The ASC/MRS Best Technology Innovation Award offers a fantastic opportunity to gain external recognition from respected industry associations, while raising further awareness of Stravito Assistant amongst the insights industry.
AJ: What did winning the award mean for Stravito?
Sarah: The ASC/MRS Award is well-known within the industry and provides a fantastic platform to showcase how we can help individuals in large and global organizations. It was an honour to receive the award for the launch of Stravito Assistant, especially among a stellar selection of finalists, and a testament that we are on the right track. The whole team is ecstatic to have won the award – it’s a proud milestone for us as a company.
AJ: We take our judging duties very seriously at ASC and are proud of the reputation we have for being fair and objective. But we also work hard to keep the process manageable for entrants. Tell us what the process was like for you as an entrant?
Sarah: The award process was robust and thorough, providing different ways for us to highlight the innovation from Stravito Assistant. The written application allowed us to describe exactly how the technology worked – with the option to add presentations and videos for further explanation. The product demonstration with the judges then allowed us to showcase Assistant in action and answer remaining questions to ensure we’d covered all bases.
AJ: We especially look forward to meeting the award entrants at the ASC table – and as usual, our colleagues at MRS made it a great occasion this year. I hope you enjoyed being there too?
Sarah: We had a fantastic time celebrating at the ASC table for the awards ceremony in London and are already looking forward to next year’s event!
AJ: And finally, what are you most excited about regarding the future development of your technology?
Sarah: We are excited by the way the technology is allowing us to further help our customers, and the speed at which it is advancing! We have lots more product updates in the pipeline, and we’re focused on providing solutions to help our customers identify insights and expedite the innovation process so they can outpace competition and drive business growth.
AJ: Thank you, Sarah. We look forward to watching Stravito Assistant go from strength to strength and hope you will come back and tell us about it at one of our future events.
If you have developed innovative and transformational technology for the research industry, then why not enter the 2025 award? Submissions for the 2025 award will open in May, so please look out for communication from the ASC and MRS with further details.
